Where to login
Login at this address here: https://cms.misocs.com/SOCS/login.asp
You can also login via your SOCS sports website, SOCS school website or SOCS calendar website, dependent on which of these has been configured for your School. The SOCS login button is normally located to the top right of each home page.
If you haven't already then you must choose a sports website domain name for your SOCS website. Find out how to do this here:
You can also login from any of our sport portals where you see a SOCS login button. These are:
The SOCS Login Screen
When the SOCS login screen appears enter your username and password and then click the Login button.
Ensure to change your password frequently, perhaps every 3 months, or termly. To change your password or registered email address follow the help here >>>
Help and reminders are available where you see the question mark button in any of the SOCS control panel webpages.
Alternatively, to find more detailed help, goto the main Help & Support system and Search or see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). The Help & Support system can be accessed using the Help button which is located on every page in the main header of your SOCS sport control panel.
If you can't find an answer then Submit a Question using the form here >>>
If the matter is urgent then contact us via email at support@miSOCS.com.
The main areas of the SOCS control panel are described here >>>
When you login for the very first time we suggest you navigate to the School Setting menu option. From there you can update your contacts, sports users and sports map.
Contacts. Details for the main contact for sport at the school and for each individual sport can be viewed and updated from the Contacts web page.
Sports Users. If you are the Main account holder then you might also want to add more Users accounts, giving access to the SOCS control panel to teachers in the school or coaches and staff in your sports department. Account holders can access all sports, or an individual sport or multiple sports, dependent on the settings given to them by the main account holder. See more about Editing User accounts here >>>
Sports Map. Map markers can be positioned with pinpoint precision for all of your sporting venues and facilities on your school's sports map using the Sports Map Plotter.
The most important first step is to ensure the map marker for the Main School is located correctly. This marker is non-editable, therefore if you need to alter the position of the marker you should send an email to support@miSOCS.com and any adjustments to the location will be made for you.
To help visiting opponent's and parents we recommend positioning map markers on the map to show the main entrance to your school or sports ground as well as the nearest car park(s) to the school's main sports facilities.
Your school's sports map is an important feature as it is available in your dedicated sports website AND in all the dedicated sports websites of all the schools you play against in the Opponent Maps and Links section (if they use SOCS sport).
When adding home fixtures a drop down box is also available in the Fixture & Result Editor where you can select the pitch or sports venue. To do this you must first have added the relevant map marker to the sports map.
SOCS sport connects schools and teams
When you first login it is likely that you will see sports, teams, fixtures and results already listed in your SOCS sport control panel and your dedicated sports website. This is because SOCS sport connects to every other school in a unique way. If your opponent uses SOCS sport then you both share your joint fixtures/matches, this means when you upload a sport and team and then create a fixture against a listed opponent your fixture is automatically transposed into the fixture listings of your opponent. This applies to the kick off time, venue and result, where your wins are your opponent’s losses and your home matches are their away matches.
You might also see Competition fixtures in your SOCS sport control panel and your dedicated sports website - potentially going back many years if, for instance, your school has participated previously in the National Sevens, Daily Mail Cup & Vase, ESAA, ESSA, ESFA or ISFA competitions. It is important to note that Competition fixtures cannot be deleted although you can upload results, action photos and match reports in the usual way as well as team sheets if the school has Team Sheet Builder. If your school participates in any competition covered by SchoolsSports.com then you will also see links to the respective Competition Microsites appearing too.
See more details about Competition Microsites and Competition Builder here >>>
Adding your Sports and Teams
When you first start, or at the beginning of every new school year and season, you should create your sports and teams list.
To add a new team click the Sports & Teams menu link, and then add a new sport and the teams. You will find there are more than 100 sports to choose from.
Important Notes - please read:
Important information about deleting teams can be found here >>>
You cannot add a duplicate team at the same age and level.
All teams have an age level setting AND you can assign a team name to every team. For example your U13As can be called the 1st XI and your U13Bs can be called the 2nd XI.
Ensure you do not select an age level for a team and then assign a conflicting team name !! For example DO NOT select an age level as U13A and then assign a team name to it as the U13Cs or U11Ds !! This might seem obvious, but it can happen and the system, in most cases, provides an alert if you have made this error when assigning a team name.
When you view your Sports & Teams Overview, any sport which has fixtures that have already taken place where the results are missing will be notified with an exclamation sign . If you see the exclamation sign then click it to quickly add the missing results.
Adding Fixtures & Results
When you have added your sports and teams for the current season, you can add fixtures for each team.
Once fixtures have been added you can use the Fixture & Result Editor to make changes, insert a report, add action photos etc.
Fixtures can be inserted into a team's Fixtures & Results listing at any time.
Fixtures will always be inserted in KO Time and Match Date order.
Results cannot be uploaded until the day of the fixture.
The SOCS sport CMS checks to see if a team and fixture already exists in yours and your opponent's listings and under most conditions will provide a warning that a duplicate fixture exists. You can override the warning and elect to add a duplicate fixture, if for instance your team is playing the same opponent several times on the same day as might be the case in a competition. Duplicates fixtures can sometimes occur due to date or venue changes or simply because they have been added accidentally twice or three times (!!!) in which case you should delete any duplicate fixtures you find.
Sports, teams, fixtures and results can be added from previous seasons. This adds additional interest to your dedicated sports website as your followers can quickly see a team's past playing record against your opponents with a single mouse click.
To save time, you can add block fixtures. This is a fixture where multiple teams play the same opponent school on the same date. Also see editing a block fixture >>>
When you add a new single fixture or a new block of fixtures you have two options:
Option 1. To save time finding opponents and uploading fixtures the control panel stores a list of your previous opponents in alphabetical order. Use this option to quickly select an opponent you have played against previously.
Option 2. With this option you can find a new opponent. All fixtures you create against a new opponent will be available in your previous opponent listings (Option 1) the next time you insert a fixture.
If you are searching for a new opponent (via Option 2) and the name of your opponent cannot be found try the same search prefixed with "The" or use "RGS" for Royal Grammar School or "QEGS" for Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. All occurrences of "Saint" have been shortened to "St" (with no full stop after St). Also try searching for letters that occur in the middle of a name rather than at the beginning.
If you still cannot find your opponent type the letters "tbc" into the Option 2 search box. When you then click the search button this overrides the search and indicates that your opponent is to be confirmed. When the usual fixture screen appears simply replace the letters tbc with the name of your opponent. This is useful if your school is playing a non-school team such as a sports club team or if there are several schools taking part in the fixture - such as a swimming gala, athletics triangular or cross country race.
There are more than 25,000 schools listed and searchable in SOCS sport. If you can't find a school then notify us via email we will add it to the listings. If possible please provide the address or postcode of the school to be added.
When adding a fixture against a new opponent you will find that their sports map and a link to their website is automatically inserted into your Opponent Maps & Links section on your sports website.
When adding a fixture using the Fixture & Result Editor you cannot select a date from a different season. This is to prevent accidental errors, such as adding this season’s fixtures to last season’s teams.
A new school year + 1 is added to the system on 1st August every year. i.e. on 1 August 2012 the 2013/14 school year is added, the 2012/13 school year becomes the default school year and the 2011/12 school year is available via select a season along with all previous seasons (or school years). This ensures schools can plan fixtures and competitions up to two years ahead. See also the following FAQ:
Adjacent to each fixture you will see the Editor button. Click this to access the Fixture & Result Editor, which is used to edit fixtures, insert results and add match reports. If the school uses Team Sheet Builder additional features are enabled to allow the selection of players for the fixture and the ability to track pupil participation and performance.
The Fixture & Result Editor can also be used to insert a Preview Report for upcoming fixtures, perhaps to announce the team or to provide more details about the venue, or to announce meeting times and transport details.
When a match is over use the Fixture & Result Editor to include the result as well as a Match Report, perhaps to acknowledge an outstanding performance or to add more details about the result. 10 action photographs per fixture can also be uploaded. NB. When writing long match reports ensure to do this in a desktop application, such as your Word processor, and then use copy and paste. This will prevent loss of work due to a system time-outs when saving.
When a fixture is saved against a listed opponent the 'magnifying glass' link will appear in your team's Fixtures & Results listings. Click this to see your opponent's playing record for the selected season.
If a team has played against an opponent in previous seasons the playing record link will appear automatically when a fixture is saved. Click this to see your playing record.
For more details about adding and editing fixtures, events or competitions see the FAQ here:
